A DAY IN THE FOREST: YOGA, BREATH & CREATIVE EXPLORATION
SUNDAY, MAY 3RD, 12:00PM-6:00PM, 2026
WHERE
Nectar Yoga Retreat Center, Bowen Island, BC
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Step away from the noise of daily life and into a day of movement, creativity, and deep connection, held within the peaceful forest surroundings of Nectar.
Join us for a day in the forest dedicated to movement, breath, creative exploration, and unhurried time outdoors.
Hosted by yoga teacher Georgie and floral artist Iryna of Ordinary Matter, this intimate retreat offers a relaxed space to reconnect with yourself and spark creativity that continues beyond the retreat.
Set within the forest surroundings of Nectar, the day begins with a gentle arrival, grounding circle, and welcome. From here, Georgie will guide a deeply nourishing yoga practice integrating breathwork, Kriya, mantra, and meditation inspired by Himalayan yogic traditions. This session is designed to quiet the mind, awaken the body, and open space for inspiration to arise naturally.
Following the movement practice, we will gather for a heart-opening cacao ceremony a beautiful moment to soften, connect, and set intentions.
In the afternoon, Iryna will lead a hands-on creative exploration with natural grasses. Grasses are increasingly appreciated in contemporary floral design for their movement, texture, and sculptural potential. Through braiding, interlacing, and open experimentation, participants will create abstract, long-lasting bouquets, allowing creativity to emerge through a spirit of play and attentive engagement with botanical materials.
You will leave with your own modern bouquet of grasses to adorn your home or offer as a thoughtful gift for the upcoming Mother’s Day, along with fresh inspiration and a renewed sense of calm.
No experience with yoga or creative practice is needed, simply bring a curious mind, an open heart and a willingness to experiment.
