In late 2023, Nectar has pledged and applied to become a certified 1% For The Planet member.
Accessible Pricing Initiative: ‘Pay What You Can’ Program
Nectar is committed to prioritizing accessibility, acknowledging and addressing the financial disparities that disproportionately affect racialized persons, individuals with disabilities, people in extenuating circumstances, and other marginalized groups. Often, individuals within these groups face barriers that hinder access to wellness experiences.
Our ‘Pay What You Can' program functions on a sliding scale basis. This means that fees are flexible and fair, adjusting according to an individual’s financial circumstances and level of systemic advantage. This system ensures that those most in need can access our services, but it relies on applicants maintaining a standard of personal honesty to function effectively.
Who’s Eligible to Apply
Individuals from marginalized racial, ethnic, and LGBTQIA+ communities, or anyone else who meets the following criteria, are encouraged to fill out the form below:
You face health concerns, have diverse neurological abilities, or encounter other circumstances that prevent you from earning an adequate income.
You experience financial hardship and struggle to meet basic needs like housing, food, and healthcare.
You do not have discretionary funds for non-essentials.
You do not own assets such as property or other investments.
You are a single parent or caregiver in need of respite.
Before Applying
To ensure that Nectar's community care funds reach those with the greatest need, please be aware that the ‘Pay What You Can’ program is designed for individuals facing challenges meeting basic survival needs, lacking discretionary income for non-essential items, without assets or investments, and without financial or class privileges.
Accessible Pricing Initiative for Groups
Twice annually, we offer the Nectar Property to be used for the 'Pay What You Can For Groups' initiative, supporting impactful organizations facing financial constraints. Instead of the usual rental fee, a minimum amount is requested to cover basic expenses. This 2-night program includes weekday stays in Scandinavian-inspired accommodations and wholesome plant-based meals. Retreat hosts can lead and provide programming during this getaway to the backdrop of the lush Pacific Northwest forest. Applications are encouraged from leaders representing marginalized communities, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse, and those with disabilities. Nominations for organizations are also welcome.
Work Trade Program
The program offers a unique opportunity for individuals worldwide to immerse themselves in our retreat while contributing to our community. Participants enjoy a two-night stay in exchange for labour and help with various projects, including gardening, outdoor renovations, painting, and other tasks that benefit from an extra set of hands. Work hours are distributed across both the check-in day and the second day, totaling 7.5 hours for participants.
